Senior product designer

We are currently hiring for this position. Read the scope below, then apply by email with your portfolio and a short note about a project you led from start to finish.

Remote · Serbia · CET Part-time Figma · design systems

Always-open hiring

CraftedPixel is growing fast and we plan to expand the team in this area in the near future. Even when we don’t yet have a formally approved position for every profile listed, we still want to meet exceptional people we can keep building with.

Apply and send your CV or portfolio to be among the first we contact when this position officially opens. We expect that to happen in the coming months, depending on client demand and our internal plan.

About the role

You lead discovery and delivery for client engagements and the occasional internal tool, turning vague briefs into shippable UX, documented in Figma and validated with engineering. You are equally confident in dense B2B flows and in polishing marketing surfaces when the same brand has to show up in both places.

You will work directly with principals and engineers, with no handoff-only layer. Expect async-first communication and focused live sessions for reviews and workshops.

Responsibilities

  • Run structured discovery with clients: goals, constraints, success metrics, and honest tradeoffs.
  • Produce flows, wireframes, and high-fidelity UI; maintain libraries and handoff specs engineering can build from.
  • Run or support usability sessions; synthesize findings into prioritized changes.
  • Work with engineering on accessibility, performance, and real edge states (empty, loading, error).
  • Contribute to design QA before launch; document patterns so teams can extend the system after handoff.

Terms

  • A strong portfolio showing end-to-end product work, not just marketing sites.
  • Expert-level Figma; confident with variants, auto layout, and component architecture.
  • Working knowledge of WCAG 2.2 AA patterns and how they affect layout and components.
  • Experience working in async-first teams (written updates, Loom, shared boards).
  • Eligible to work in Serbia (employment contract or service contract), with no visa required.

Nice to have

  • Design system documentation or token workflows (e.g. Style Dictionary, Figma variables).
  • Enough React or HTML/CSS to talk credibly with frontend engineers.
  • Experience in hiring, HR tech, or other multi-role enterprise products.

Compensation and benefits

Gross pay: €1,400–2,000 per month for 24–30 hours a week, depending on experience. Service contract or fixed-term employment contract, specified in the offer. Statutory contributions.

  • Statutory contributions; private health insurance if we move to an employment contract.
  • Paid holidays and days off prorated to your hours.
  • Home office or coworking support in Novi Sad (prorated).
  • Professional development budget: books, courses, and conferences.

Working conditions and policies

  • Hours: Part-time (typically 24–30 hours / week); core collaboration hours in CET (09–17), flexible async outside that window.
  • Equipment: Company laptop and tools; details in the offer.
  • Travel: Rare; occasional client workshops when mutually agreed.
  • Reference check: May be required after a verbal offer, before you start.
  • Confidentiality: You may see client roadmaps; standard NDA / MSA terms apply.

CraftedPixel is an equal opportunity employer. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, age, marital status or disability.

Hiring process

  1. Application review (portfolio + short answers or a cover note).
  2. A 30-minute intro with the design lead.
  3. Take-home task or paid design exercise, your choice; we recommend the paid option for anything over ~2 hours.
  4. Final round: culture and collaboration with the principals.
  5. Reference check and written offer.

Apply

Send an email with your portfolio link, a PDF or deck (under 8 MB), and a short note about one product you shipped: your role, the constraints, and the outcome. Use the subject line we prefill so triage stays fast.
