How much an online store costs in Serbia, what pushes the price up, and where most of the hidden costs are.
Core e-commerce packages
For a small shop (up to 50 products) on WordPress + WooCommerce: from €2,290. That includes design, core pages, categories, product pages, cart, checkout, basic payments and shipping.
For a mid-size shop (50-500 products): €3,500-5,500. This adds advanced search, filters, product variants (color/size), a B2B segment if needed, and a connection to your inventory or ERP system.
For a large or custom shop (over 1,000 products, complex logic, multiple languages): from €7,000 up. Here we usually choose between WooCommerce (plug & play) and Next.js + headless commerce (faster, more scalable, longer to build).
Payments and shipping - what they actually cost
Payment integration is included in the packages above for cash on delivery, bank transfer slips and cards (via Monri, PaySpot or NestPay). The payment provider’s monthly fees are separate - usually 0.9-1.9% per transaction plus a monthly base fee (€10-30). Our advice: launch the shop and see your real volume before choosing the most expensive plan.
Shipping: an integration with Pouzdani Dostavljač, D-Express, City Express or Post Express typically costs €190-490 one-off, depending on complexity (fixed vs dynamic zone-based rates).
Common extra costs
- Product shoots - photos and video. From €290 for a small set to €1,500 for a detailed shoot of 100+ products.
- Product descriptions - if you need us to write them. Around €5-15 per product, depending on complexity.
- Marketing and SEO - product feeds for Google Shopping, Facebook, Instagram. €390-890 one-off plus monthly maintenance.
- Email automation - abandoned cart, post-purchase, newsletter. Klaviyo/Mailchimp integration: €290-690.
What Shopify doesn’t do in Serbia
Shopify is popular, but in Serbia it has two serious drawbacks: no official integration with Monri/NestPay (you need an intermediary gateway), and monthly fees in foreign currency ($29-299/month) that add up fast. For a serious Serbian shop, WooCommerce or a custom website is almost always more economical.
